Dr. Susan Hawley
Dr. Hawley grew up in northern Michigan. She went to Traverse City High School. After high school she attended Alma College, and graduated 1989 with Honors and a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry and Spanish. She went on to attend The University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where she received training in all aspects of general dentistry and graduated fifth out of eighty-four people in 1993, receiving the following awards: Comprehensive care, Arthur H. Merritt Award for outstanding interest, proficiency in the practice of Periodontics, senior student award (award given by faculty for showing greatest interest, knowledge and proficiency in general dentistry)
After dental school she did a post graduate program for one year at the University of Michigan. The focus of the program was in endodontics, pediatrics, oral surgery, implants, prosthodontics and periodontics. Continuing to learn is a central part of her personality. Some of the many courses she has taken over the years are: Diagnosis Treatment of Masticatory System Problems; Equilibration Diagnosis Treatment of Occlusal Problems and The Concept of Complete Dentistry. Dr. Hawley is licensed by the Dental Board of Michigan and is a member of the American Dental Association; Academy of General Dentistry and Michigan Dental Association and the American Orthodontic Society.
